C Series Wanner™ pressure regulating valves bypass system fluid to prevent excess system pressure. When a system discharge is completely closed – such as a closed spray gun, closed valve or plugged nozzle – Wanner™ pressure regulating valves bypass the total system fluid flow. They also balance system pressure for multiple-orifice operations, essentially "regulating" the system pressure through bypassing of "excess" fluid.
The Wanner™ pressure regulating valve design consists of a spring loaded tapered plunger against a valve seat. When the system pressure overcomes the adjustable spring pressure holding the plunger against the seat, the plunger lifts off the seat just enough to ensure the system pressure doesn't exceed the set maximum. With the plunger lifted partly off the seat some or all of the fluid will bypass the discharge line; perhaps to the feed tank, inlet line or to drain. The internal design has baffles to gently direct flow around the plunger and seat interface to reduce erosion wear.
The sealless design of our pressure regulating valve eliminates the potential of fugitive emissions (leakage) and thus is ideal for hazardous fluids containing particulates.
The plunger assembly and valve seat are easily removed when worn, simply remove the top of the body and replace the worn components. The valve can be serviced in place without disturbing any fittings or plumbing.
