Peristaltic pump dampeners are designed to reduce vibration and water-hammer related to hose compression. Although the pump rollers or shoes do not typically compress the hose 100%, enough fluid is encased between the pinch points to create a surge in flow. The magnitude of peristaltic pump pulsation is dependent upon the discharge restriction, often reflected as the discharge pressure.
Peristaltic pump pulsation dampeners are a pressure vessel with a flexible internal bladder. The bladder is normally pressurized with compressed air or nitrogen and can be both adjusted and monitored. The wetted component of the pulsation dampener is bladder which usually is made from the same material as your pump hose. Common peristaltic pump hose materials include natural rubber, EPDM, oil-rated nitrile and Hypalon.
Our peristaltic pump pulsation dampeners work with any brand peristaltic pump; refer to the replacement peristaltic pump hose page and cross reference the hose ID with the the beginning of the universal part number and then refer to the chart below (or just contact us!)
