Model F20 Hydra Cell Pro pump Installation, Operation & Maintenance Manual
The
Wanner™ Hydra-Cell® Pro model F20 pump, a sealless simplex diaphragm pump, boasts flow
rates up to 1 GPM and pressures up to 1,500 PSI. Its unique hollow
pump shaft enables direct bolting to a 56C NEMA frame motor,
ensuring a remarkably compact pump and motor assembly. (The model
F21 and F22 Hydra Cell Pro pumps have a male shaft coupled to a motor with a
rigid adapter to ensure positive shaft alignment.) Unlike
conventional sealed pumps, the F20 Hydra Cell Pro operates without dependency on
pumped fluids for lubrication or cooling, making it a versatile
choice for handling reclaimed fluids, hazardous chemicals, and
extreme temperature fluids.
Moreover, the F20 Hydra Cell Pro
pump's design allows it to excel in applications where
conventionally sealed pumps may struggle. Operating dry and
unaffected by clogged or closed suction conditions, it offers
reliability and durability. Recent applications include pumping CO2
for cryogenic lab workstations, aqueous ammonia at power plants, and
surfactant injection for snow-making equipment.
The pump's exposed components to the pumped fluid are the
diaphragm, o-rings, and check valve assemblies. While the diaphragms
boast exceptional wear life, the check valves, with a typical wear
life of 6,570-8,760 hours (9-12 months) in continuous operation, may
require eventual replacement. These valves and seats come in various
materials to maximize chemical and abrasion resistance.
Replacing check valves is a breeze, requiring no specialized tools or training. Typically taking less than an hour, the swap-out can often occur without removing the pump from the system.
