The D04 Hydra-Cell™ Pump is a high pressure version of the D03 Hydra Cell pump, capable outputting up to 3 GPM at pressures up to 2500 PSI.
The D03 Hydra Cell pump components upgraded to create the D04 Hydra Cell pump include:
The crankshaft and connecting rods have larger lands and are harder and polished.
D04's have a cast housing, which includes more material and strength.
The diaphragm plate is machined from steel instead of aluminum.
The diaphragms have a retaining lip on the front and rear side to withstand higher pressures.
The manifold and valve plates are thicker for strength and their bolts are longer and heavier.
The oil reservoir is larger to to reduce air entrainment.
Applications which benefit from 1000 to 2500 PSI include spray atomization (coatings, spray drying, humidification), power cleaning, high pressure coolant in CNC machinery, trim squirt and felt cleaning in the papermaking industry, hydrostatic testing and chemical injection (aerosol filling and reagent injection for NOx reduction).
The Sealless design of the D04 Hydra Cell pump enables it to handle fluids that have particulate, are at extreme temperatures or non-lubricating which are incompatible with mechanically sealed piston, plunger and gear pumps.
The wear item of a D04 Hydra Cell Pump is their check valve assemblies and there are (6) per pump. The check valves are easily removed with common tools and require no special training. Often the valve changing procedure is accomplished at the processing line within an hour.
Pump size and check valve materials are selected in support of check valve life lasting 9-12 months of continuous operation (6570-8760 hours), having stainless steel, Hastelloy, tungsten carbide and ceramic as choices for the valves and seats.
